Sat Nam.

Greetings from Alaska!  I arrived here directly after our Summer Solstice Sadhana and Level Two Teacher Training, Lifecycles and Lifestyles course in New Mexico. We had over 75 Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® teachers attending; and the trainers, Shanti Shanti Kaur, Guru Sangat Kaur, Sadhana Singh, Gurucharan Singh and I delivered a beautiful experience. I always learn something new every time that I participate in these Trainings. The cycles of 7, 11 and 18 really came to life for me in this course. Come join us next summer for Conscious Communication.

It is Yogi Bhajan’s birthday this month. Being in Alaska reminds me of the wonderful times that we had with him here. When he was traveling, he would come up here for rest and rejuvenation. He enjoyed the natural beauty and amazing prana of this place before Summer and Winter Solstice Celebrations.  The times I spent with him are very precious to me. I am very grateful for the support he gave to me, my family and our yogic community.

We are celebrating the life and legacy of Yogi Bhajan at Hacienda de Guru Ram Das on August 28th. We will also be chanting the Adi Shakti Mantra, Ek Ong Kar Sat Nam Siri Wahe Guru, for 2.5 hours followed by 11 minutes of Guru Guru Wahe Guru Guru Ram Das Guru on Yogi Bhajan’s actual birthday which is August 26th.   These two mantras are chanted all over the world on Yogi Bhajan’s birthday. If you have not done it before, I highly recommend it. Check with your local Teacher about where and when and join in the celebration and vibration that is the life of our Teacher, Yogi Bhajan.

There is a wonderful MP3 download of Yogi Bhajan leading a class in this powerful mantra. Listen and practice with Yogi Bhajan himself at

News from The Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings

Yogi Bhajan Library of TeachingsGreetings from The Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings!

August is always a whirlwind around here. The Level One Immersion Course begins and we look forward to the Yogi Bhajan Birthday Party; and for me, personally, I get to celebrate my own birthday, too, each year (or not—because I’m so busy!). It’s a beautiful time to be here at Hacienda de Guru Ram Das—the Navel Point of the world—as Yogi Bhajan liked to call Española.

This year I’m celebrating my birthday by making a commitment to The Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings—financially. I realized the other day that I needed to put my money where my mouth is by becoming a subscribing donor myself! I’ve always been grateful that I get to come to work every day and serve this mission—ensuring the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan and his legacy into the future. Not many people are blessed with work that they not only love but that also fulfills them in a way that can’t really be expressed in words. Every day I have the opportunity to be uplifted and transformed at the feet of the Master, Yogi Bhajan.  Every day I get an opportunity to live in grace and practice that grace with others. But gratitude for what I receive here wasn’t enough—I needed to join you, my fellow Kundalini Yogis, in committing some of my own prosperity to the future students and teachers of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan®. So that’s my gift to myself for my 42nd birthday this year—a commitment to my 7th cycle of consciousness through the Teachings of Yogi Bhajan--$54 a month toward The Yogi Bhajan Library of Teachings Capital Campaign.

We’d like to welcome our new donors this month as well as honor some donors who’ve been around for quite some time and greet into the 3HO global community a new son of the Aquarian Age:

Alejandra Dominguez Barragan

Awtar Kaur Khalsa

Caixia Huo

Hans Mukh Kaur Khalsa

Continued thanks and blessings to Kundalini Yoga in the Loop and Shakta Kaur & Hari Dev Singh, whose prosperity and generosity is an example not only to their own students but to teachers and students all around the world.

Also, special thanks to Harijot Kaur for her extraordinary gifts this year. Check out her new edition of The Owner's Manual at the Source!

And, finally, in honor of the birth of Japjeet Singh (Kartika & Ajai Khalsa’s son), a gift of $100 was sent to welcome him into the world! May he be a great servant and leader of the Aquarian Age!

We Are KRI

Sat Nam and Greetings to all around the Globe!

August is one of my favorite months because our We Are KRI Community will be in one voice as we chant to Guru Ram Das in honor of our Teacher on the 26th of August.  Meeting in the Amrit Vela and experiencing Yogi Bhajan’s legacy all around the world.

This meditation is during our KRI Level One Immersion, and this year we have more than 60 students and 15 Trainers in Training from around the globe coming together for 27 days.  The Immersion is KRI’s Outreach course, our opportunity to provide Level One Training to students from around the globe who do not have teacher training available where they live.  KRI now offers two partial scholarships to students who are taking Teacher Training home to an underserved.  This year we have students who will be taking Kundalini Yoga back home to Haiti and Bolivia.  KRI continues to work on expanding and developing our Reach Out—Teach Out program and we welcome your ideas and input.

This year our Trainer in Training Program (TNT) is expanding with a one week Training and Development Program for the participants.  The week will include work in team building, trainer competency development, practicum evaluation tools, Breath and Prana, and the core discipline of a Teacher—self-assessment.  If you or someone you know would like to participate in the 2011 Trainer in Training Program, the application and information will be posted this fall – KRI is already hearing from interested participants.

A few more interesting notes on teacher training around the globe:

  • Did you know that there are trainers from Australia working on a Program in Nepal?

  • Or Trainers from Mexico and the United States planning to develop Teacher Training in Haiti by 2013?

  • Or that we’re working to develop an on-line handbook with support information for these outreach programs. If you would like to participate in this project, please contact me at

Congratulations to all of our KRI Trainers around the world.  We continue to bring Kundalini Yoga to every continent and almost every country on the globe.  I look forward to hearing from you.
